If I Had to Start Over From $0: The Exact Order I'd Follow at 46
Yesterday I posted the 5 stages of building income online. Today I want to go one step further — and get specific.
If I lost everything tomorrow and had to start again from $0, at 46, with no audience and nothing to sell, here is the exact order I would follow. Not the fast order. The right order.
Step 1: Learn one skill AI makes faster
I did not start by buying a course or chasing ten skills at once. I picked one thing — writing and content — and let free AI tools speed it up. ChatGPT and Claude draft; I edit everything in my own voice. The skill matters more than the tool, because tools change and the skill stays.
Step 2: Post about it daily
This is the step most people skip, and it is the one I am living right now. I am on day 2 of posting every single day about building wealth online from zero. No audience yet. No applause. Just reps.
Posting daily is not about going viral. It is about proving to yourself that you will still show up in the quiet weeks, when nobody is watching yet.
Step 3: Make one small offer
Not ten products. One. I started with the unsexy setup layer first: a $1.18 domain, a free business email, and one link page. Then one small product built from what I was actually learning — not from what I wished I knew.
One offer keeps you honest. It forces you to finish something instead of collecting half-built ideas.
Step 4: Free traffic only
My budget is $0, so this one is not a strategy choice — it is a fact of life. No ads, no paid boosts. The content itself has to do the work. That is slower, and I would rather be slow and real than fast and broke.
Step 5: Reinvest the first $100
When the first $100 comes, it goes straight back into the business. Not into my pocket. That is how a small start becomes a real one — you feed the thing that fed you.
Why the order matters
Most people run these steps backwards. They build the product before anyone is watching. They spend money before they have proof anyone wants what they are selling. Or they learn forever and never post once.
I read the fine print before I pay for anything, and I am applying that same habit here: do the free thing first, prove it works, then spend.
I am doing this the slow way, in the right order, where you can watch it happen. No income claims, no overnight story — just a 46-year-old in Henderson, Nevada, starting from zero and posting the receipts as he goes.
What step are you stuck on right now — learning, posting, or making the offer? Tell me in the comments.
